The Kidney remains an important organ of the body. It is associated with numerous functions like controlling the volume of various body fluids, removal of toxin, fluid osmolality and acid-base balance. It carries out the filtration of about a half cup of blood every minute. A healthy kidney has about one million filtering units. It is important to know how to protect the kidney. 

If a kidney is healthy, it maintains its structurally bean-like shape. It comes in twos in all vertebrates with the size of a fist, located just below the rib. Apart from the filtration functions, the kidney performs other secretion functions; ‒ there are varieties of hormones secretions performed by the kidney. 

These hormones are Calcitriol, Renin and Erythropoietin. Renin is an enzyme that regulates aldosterone and angiotensin level. The Erythropoietin is released by the kidney in response to a low level of oxygen in the tissue in the renal circulation, while it stimulates Erythropoiesis which helps with the production of red blood cells in the bone marrow. Calcitriol is an activated form of Vitamin D; it promotes the absorption of Calcium and phosphate. Other functions can be regulatory, balancing, reabsorption and measuring. 

The kidney helps the body to function properly. Maintaining a healthy kidney should be a priority because of its overall health benefits. Without the kidney, the body cannot handle the function of filtration, waste expulsion and hormonal secretion.

Water is an essential commodity for survival. Though, in some parts of the world, there are still issues surrounding the availability of potable. Exercise can be beneficial to the body. Apart from the body fitness that exercises ensure, they can lower the risk of chronic kidney disease. Uncontrolled or high blood pressure can effectively affect the functionality of the kidney. It can cause kidney damage. When high blood pressure meets other underlying diseases such as diabetics, the impact on the body can be significant. If you have high blood pressure; you should consult your doctor about how best to monitor your blood pressure regularly, remodified lifestyle and medication; if needed. Do not Bleach your Skin

Apart from the temporary change; in skin colour. Bleaching has no health benefit to the skin. Skin lightening is a threat to the kidney; could cause diabetes. It could cause blood vessel damage which could result in Nephrotic syndrome. No doubt, bleaching cream can result in serious side effects and complications. 

The presence of mercury in skincare products can encourage Nephrotic Syndrome. It is a kidney disorder often caused by damaged blood vessels of the kidneys that filters waste, and excess water. It causes the body to let out more protein in the urine. The symptoms include: Swelling around the eyes, swollen feet and ankles, Foamy Urine, Loss of appetite and fatigue.
